Thanks to Mac OS X Bonjour instant networking technology, new "presence" enhancements in Messenger for Mac 7 include the ability to add a personal message to your contact information. For personal users, communicating with buddies on the Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger is possible, but not for those with .Mac or AIM accounts. You can assign nicknames to your buddies or, as a corporate user, participate in face-to-face meetings with co-workers in other cities or countries. Microsoft Messenger 7 is a free download.

"Today we launched Messenger for Mac 7," posts Anav on the OfficeForMac website. "What's new, you ask? Let me tell you! Messenger for Mac 7 includes cool new features for both the corporate service (works with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007) and personal service (works with the Windows Live service). But the biggest milestone here is that Messenger for Mac 7 delivers audio and video for the first time in the corporate service."

So here is what Microsoft Messenger 7 brings:

- If your company has Office Communications Server 2007 and Messenger for Mac 7 installed within your corporate network, you can participate in face-to-face meetings with co-workers in other cities or countries. The client offers two types of communication services: a personal account and a corporate account. Your personal account will work with the MSN Messenger service on the Microsoft Passport Network. Contacts that you add to your personal account include friends and family members. A corporate account uses the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server service.

- The ability to assign nicknames to your friends, and support for OS X's Bonjour are just some of the most note-worthy assets of Messenger for Mac 7 for personal users. Contacts that you add to your corporate account include coworkers who are in the same company as you and associates at other companies while instant message conversations with other corporate account users are not limited to corporate users who have Messenger for Mac installed on their computers.

- As for corporate users, Messenger for Mac 7 offers increased support for Office Communications Server 2007, making it easy to search a corporate address book from within Messenger. This helps users to quickly find internal contacts and their presence information. Communications are also more secure now, with each corporate user having an account on the corporate network.

Thanks to Mac OS X Bonjour instant networking technology, people will be able to see if you're on the local network. New "presence" enhancements in Messenger for Mac 7 include the ability to add a personal message to your contact information.

Surely, you've found everything mentioned above most appealing, so why not give Messenger 7 for Mac a go right now.
