Ellen DeGeneres proves everything sounds more interesting when Meryl says it

Just in case you still had doubts that Meryl Streep is an incredibly talented actress who should win an Oscar at the 2014 edition for her role in “August: Osage County,” for which she’s been nominated, the video above will probably settle them for you.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote the film and, of course, talk about her Oscar nod, the gracious Meryl also agreed to play a little game, where she would read things handed down to her by the talk show host, in whatever intonation she told her to.

First up was an oatmeal recipe, which Meryl was told to read in her most sensual voice possible. It was amazing, believe me.

She also impersonated a woman giving birth and an annoyed (and annoying) teen, and, while Ellen was clearly about to burst out laughing at any second, she managed to keep a straight face from start to finish.

An amazing woman and just as an amazing actress! What’s best, Meryl is also very down to earth and humble, two qualities you don’t see that often in showbiz. Enjoy.
