It’s the end of an era: Meredith Vieira has been host of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” for 11 seasons but, as they say, all good things must come to an end. She will be out of her contract in May.

A spokesperson for Disney / ABC Television Group confirms for Reuters that Vieira’s contract is up this year and won’t be renewed for another season.

She will stay on the show through May and will be featured in reruns over the summer, with the network now working to find a replacement by fall, when the show goes live again.

“It's the final year of Meredith's contract. She has chosen to move on and pursue other opportunities. We are searching for a new host,” a spokesperson says.

As for Vieira’s plans for the future: the sky’s the limit.
