Indian tech-manufacturer sweetheart, Kobian is extending its tablet portfolio with a new tablet model which wants to give you iPad vibes, in terms of name at least.

The Mercury mTAB Air is the newest addition to the mTAB series and comes sporting a 7.85-inch capacitive touch IPS screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.

As Fonearena notes, the powerhouse of the new model is a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor combined with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB).

Additionally, the mTAB Air has 3G, dual cameras (2MP on the back and 0.3MP VGA front snapper) Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a 3800 mAh battery.

To complement this average product, Kobian follows the trend and throws in the dual SIM functionality (allowing users to place phone-calls)

The tablet doesn't stand out with anything in particular and is pretty similar to a lot of tablets on the Indian market today, but maybe the price will make you want to pick it up.

The slate will arrive towards the end of January and will sell for the price of Rs. 10,999 / €176 / €130.
