Developer Digital Mind Software and publisher 1C Company announce that they are working on a new Men of War video game, named Assault Squad 2, which will take gamers back to World War II on the PC before the end of 2014.

The game developers state that they are creating “new single player style skirmish modes that take players from extreme tank combat to deadly sniper stealth missions.”

A new 8 versus 8 player mode is designed to add a new level of spectacle on bigger maps, according to Gamasutra.

The developers are promising enhancements to the core game engine and a visual upgrade for the real-time strategy.

Apparently, Digital Mind Software has listened to the fan community of Men of War and is introducing multi core support, advanced shader tech, improvements for the Artificial Intelligence and the user interface.

Gamers will also be able to enjoy a new inventory system and updated vehicles, improvements to the way units camouflage themselves and multiplayer powered by the Steam matchmaking system.
