Actress is overexposed, Americans are tired, report says

Proving that you can, in fact, have too much of a good thing, men in America have grown tired of Megan Fox and are asking for just one day of media blackout. The star is too overexposed and has not yet done anything really worthy of that much attention, other than look insanely hot, editors of all major men’s magazines in the US are telling GateCrasher.

If 2009 was not the year of the “Transformers” beauty, then clearly men don’t know what was, the aforementioned e-zine says. Fox has been on every cover and in every magazine one can possibly think of, starting from the iconic FHM and down to glossy mags the likes of People. She is gorgeous, she is willing to do the media rounds and she has a proper excuse for doing so, namely promoting a movie, but enough is enough, editors at US men’s magazines say. Therefore, they have decided that August 4 be the national media blackout day for Megan Fox.

“A dozen male-focused Web sites including AOL’s men’s lifestyle / humor site Asylum.com – as well as Ask Men, Just a Guy Thing and Double Viking – have sanctioned Aug. 4 as a Megan Fox media blackout day. Why the diss? All the editors feel the starlet has become a bit too overexposed – and they’re not just talking about her fashion sense. Fox has appeared on the covers of Esquire, Empire, Maxim, GQ UK, Entertainment Weekly and Elle this year alone, plus she did heavy press for her role as Mikaela Banes in ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’.” GateCrasher informs.

Instead of Fox, the same editors who came up with the idea for the ban offer “The Unborn” star Odette Yustman, who should be promoted but probably isn’t because, well, Megan Fox is. Similarly, they say, there are countless other female stars who, although perhaps not as good looking as Fox, also deserve some attention and their share in the spotlight. This is what the Fox media blackout day is for, they say.

“You can have too much of a good thing. We’re joining in the media blackout and giving our readers a one-day reprieve from the woman we’ve been drowning in all summer.” James Bassil, Editor-in-Chief at Ask Men, states. Eric Rogell of TheBachelorGuy agrees, “Listen, we love Megan. She’s responsible for driving more eyeballs to our sites – just by getting photographed walking down the street in a white T-shirt – than any other celeb alive. It’s time to give another young actress a shot at the attention. We’re taking a one-day break from covering Megan’s latest nail polish color and instead promoting another ‘Next Big Thing’.”
