Glamour magazine literally broke the mold in the September issue and, what’s more surprising, it probably did so without even aiming to. Page 194 included, suffocated by fashion and beauty ads with size-0 models, a small photo of a woman who looked just like the kind of girl you could meet when walking down the street or running errands. According to Glamour and its recent poll among guys, it’s precisely this that makes Lizzie Miller, the woman in question, so hot for all men.

Lizzie is 20 years old and, at 1.80m, weighs about 80kg, which is far from overweight but, at the same time, also very far from what the fashion industry expects from a model. Therefore, she has no place in high fashion, but works as a plus-size model – as it happens, as such, she has just caught the attention of the entire world. The photo in question, the one that even made it to CNN, shows her wearing nothing but a bright smile and the utmost confidence in her body, including the small roll of fat on her abdomen.

According to the many men Glamour talked to about Lizzie, it’s precisely this down-to-earth quality that they love about her. She doesn’t look sick, is not breakable-thin, is happy and gorgeous, but, most importantly, she knows she’s beautiful. Because of all these, she seems accessible, which, in turn, only makes her all the more attractive, the guys say for the glossy magazine, because Lizzie Miller is real, unlike the other models featured in women’s mags.

“The most striking thing about this photo is not that she has a roll in her belly. I would think that everyone of a healthy weight would have some sort of roll while sitting. Do I find Lizzie attractive? Sure. […] Lizzie is beautiful and does have a nice smile, but more to the point, I find Lizzie attractive because I don’t need to go to a club or get anywhere near a red carpet to meet her. She lives in my neighborhood, she shops at my grocery store, she’s the girl next door – and she’s hot.” John, 23, tells the magazine.

“I’m definitely not into super-skinny girls, but I must admit, I haven’t encountered many women like this, who would sit confidently in a position that exposed a ‘little extra.’ I’m more likely to notice a woman’s belly roll if it’s clear that she isn’t comfortable with it.” Mike, 36, says of the model and, more specifically, of the photo that ran in the September issue of Glamour. These two aren’t the only ones to think so of Lizzie: she is everything a man could ever want in a woman, so Glamour printing her photo was the best thing the glossy mag could have done, they say.
