Despite the fact that Blu-ray discs don't seem to be getting any cheaper (since not enough people are actually buying Blu-ray titles yet), various manufacturers around the world keep rolling out new Blu-ray machines, some of these things retailing for huge amounts of money, while others are actually available at some pretty decent price points. And that's also the case with the latest announcement from Memorex, since the company has just introduced a pretty decent player, the MVBD-2510 model, which might actually get quite a lot of users interested.

And that's because the player has a very good price/quality ratio, compared to some of the other models existing on the market. So, for 270 US dollars (suggested retail price, so chances are that you'll actually be able to find it for even less), you will get 1080p and video frame rates of 24p and 60p, as well as Bonus View 1.1, allowing for special functions like "Picture in Picture" viewing for special content, including director's commentary, while the actual movie is being played. Audio playback features include support for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio decoding and bit stream output, as well as Master Audio bit stream output.

Connectivity-wise, the MVBD-2510 is also pretty OK, since it features a 7.1 HDMI digital audio output and 5.1 analog audio output. Moreover, the device also offers a rather high level of versatility from the point of view of compatible media, since it works with numerous formats, such as BD-ROM, DVD+ROM, DVD-R/DVD-RW, DVD+R/DVD+RW, CD-ROM, CD-R/CD-RW and JPEG on DVD/CD recordable media.

The player from Memorex is also quite an attractive machine, featuring elegant details like brushed metal accents and white LED display. It's very likely that it will perfectly complement one's home entertainment system, especially since most HDTVs released on the market lately share the same overall design features.

Besides the player itself, Memorex has also released several Blu-ray accessories, designed to keep one's player and discs clean, namely a Memorex OptiCloth for Blu-ray, Memorex Blu-ray Disc Clean Cloths, Memorex Blu-ray Disc Player Laser Lens Cleaner and Memorex Blu-ray Disc Tyvek Sleeves. However, given the fact that most consumers aren't that crazy about Blu-ray discs, at least for the time being, it's rather debatable whether these things will enjoy any level of success whatsoever.
