Mellanox Technology Used in HP's NC542m

End-to-end connectivity solution specialist Mellanox Technology proudly announced that its ConnectX-2 EN controller had been adopted by HP for use in its NC542m Dual Port Flex-10 10GbE BLc Adapter. This adapter not only supports the industry's lowest standard TCP/IP application latency (8us), but consumes only 8.5 Watts at maximum. The new device from HP will be used in the company's BladeSystem c-Class.

The ConnectX-2 EN-powered HP NC542m Dual Port Flex-10 10GbE BLc Adapter will best serve high-transaction databases, financial services, cloud computing, and virtualized server and storage data-center environments. The solution even features support for the RDMA acceleration engine, for further latency reductions, as low as 6us to be exact. As an added benefit, the product is VMware Ready-certified for VMware vSphere 4. This functionality enables customers to manage key infrastructure components for a seamless, dynamic and flexible cloud environment. Among the manageable components are the storage, the networking and the central processors themselves.
