14 DAY TRIAL // Melissa McCarthy is now directing a new film with her husband. While on set in Wilmington, NC, the star noticed that one of the extras who had also brought along her child for the day, was yelling and mistreating the kid.
TMZ reports that the 4 or 5-year-old child didn’t exactly appreciate the commotion and would get so vocal about it that production had been interrupted a few times already.
About 200 other extras were also on set.
“Sources say the last straw came when the mom harshly jerked the child up in the air by the wrist – and McCarthy saw it all,” says the celebrity publication.
“The director IMMEDIATELY had PAs bounce the woman, saying she wouldn't tolerate abuse on her set... and that was that,” adds the same media outlet.
The identity of the extra involved has not been released to the press, and a rep for McCarthy is yet to comment on the report.
