The Real Housewives of New Jersey star says she’s disgusted by the allegations

Melissa Gorga of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Bravo’s hit reality series, has a new book coming out and, as it turns out, she’s been getting exactly the opposite of the kind of attention she wanted for it.

Being described as a guide to marital bliss based on her own experience, the book is now said to be actually promoting marital rape because Gorga advises men to just “take” their wives even when they say no because, “women want to be dominated.”

Gorga tried to defend herself and the book in an interview with E!, which is embedded in the video above.

“That is so awful. That word [marital rape] is like so disgusting to me. That’s horrible. It’s just about the playfulness, about teasing, it’s about ‘hmmm, no, I don’t want it tonight’ but he’s going to take it,” she says.

“It’s about being aggressive and trying new things in the bedroom. It’s not about, ‘hey, I have a headache, honey, and I’m not in the mood tonight,’ and your husband’s going to take it from you. I mean, come on,” Gorga argues.

Even so, not even the show’s fans are convinced.
