That Mel Gibson has certain anger management issues must not be a secret anymore, especially given the series of leaked audio recordings of him saying the vilest things possible during a fit of rage. His stepmother claims he did the same to her, so she's seeking a restraining order.

Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson married the actor's father in 2001, and she holds Mel accountable for the demise of her marriage.

In court papers asking for a restraining order against the star, the stepmom argues that he threatened her on various occasions, was verbally abusive and is threatening to kick her out in the street, TMZ reports.

According to the papers, the apple of Discord is Teddy Joye's intention of changing some of her husband's treatments, which neither Mel nor his sister agreed to.

From that moment on, both of them – but Mel in particular – went out of their way to terrorize Teddy Joye and ruin her marriage.

In January 2012, during a hospital visit, Mel lost it and almost attacked Joye on the spot, she claims.

“Mel got up, looking wild and began yelling at me in a very loud and terrifying voice. Mel was so upset and screaming so fiercely that I could see his face turn red,” she writes in court papers.

That same month, during a family dinner, Joye said she could not eat what Mel had cooked because she had a stomach ache, at which point he literally threatened her that, if she didn't eat, “he would have me put outside.”

In May, during another argument, the Hollywood actor again lost his temper and lashed out at his stepmother.

“Mel became incensed and began acting like a wild man. He was so close that I could feel his spit hitting my face. [His eyes] looked as if they were bulging out of his head,” she claims.

According to Joye, the only reason she's divorced is because Mel sabotaged her marriage. She says she's received a letter from her now ex, in which he assures her he still loves her as before.

Joye is asking the judge to grant her a restraining order against Mel, who is not to come within 100 yards of her at all times. She also wants to continue living in one of Mel's houses, saying she has no other place to go.
