Famous actor and moviemaker Mel Gibson and his reportedly pregnant girlfriend have just made their first public appearance together since Robyn Gibson filed for divorce. It happened at the Los Angeles “Wolverine” premiere just a couple of hours ago, and there are plenty of pictures to prove it, as The Telegraph can confirm.

Shortly after Robyn filed for divorce from the actor, rumors started to circulate that the most likely cause for the split could have been Mel’s cheating ways, and especially his more recent adventure with a Russian woman whose identity the media could not establish at that point. Moreover, given that he had been snapped kissing and hugging a brunette on a beach in Costa Rica only came to add more strength to the rumors – and Mel’s latest appearance comes to confirm that the rumors were accurate all along.

Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva are said to have started dating long before Robyn filed the papers, which is precisely why she was pushed into doing so. As we reported the other day, Robyn and Mel had been living separately for almost three years but it was Oksana telling friends that she was pregnant with Gibson’s child that got Robyn to file for divorce. This was her way of avoiding a bigger scandal, it has been said.

“Robyn, 53, a former Adelaide dental nurse who has seven children with Gibson, ended their 28-year marriage after Oksana Grigorieva told friends she was expecting. She was also horrified to find the ‘Braveheart; star had moved the stunning 39-year-old and her son, 11, into one of his mansions in California. […] Robyn put up with the New York-born, Australian-raised Oscar winner for years but when she found out Oksana was telling friends she’s pregnant it was the last straw.” News.com was saying the other day.

The Gibson divorce could turn out to be the costliest celebrity split in showbiz. With a fortune estimated at $900 million (by Forbes, back in 2006), Mel Gibson will most likely end up splitting in two all his money and possessions since he and Robyn did not sign a prenuptial contract before getting married in 1980. Other reports in the media have it, however, that Robyn is not interested in the money right now, having asked for a quick divorce – and the possessions to be split at a later time, after the scandal dies down.
