In a a recent interview for Hotdog magazine, the former movie star, actual director of worldwide fame (due to his hit movie The Passion of the Christ) said he feels the barbaric human sacrifices and the terror that marked the fall of the Maya empire remind him of the current situation in America.

He launched a unexepected attack on President George W. Bush, comparing his leadership to the barbaric rulers of the Mayan civilization in his brand new film Apocalypto.

The epic is the poetic depiction of the decline and fall of the Maya empire and includes unsettling images of the human sacrifices made in order to please the gods and prevent the whole society from crumbling.

Mel Gibson said he was inspired by the current fear and terror policy used by the Bush administration in order to maintain control over the U.S.

He said to Hotdog:
"The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys."
