They don't call her Scary Spice for nothing and maybe that should have been the first thing on Eddie Murphy's mind before appearing on a national television and contesting the paternity of the yet unborn child and then dumping her so publicly.
Murphy and Melanie Brown hooked up approximately six months ago but, for a while, the two stars have kept mum about their relationship. However, sources close to the ex-couple spoke to the media and spilled the beans on a future wedding. Things have gotten even more serious when Melanie got pregnant and everybody thought that they would last for a very, very long time from now on.
Melanie did, at least. Eddie, the father of her child, appeared on a television show in the Netherlands and stated clear as crystal that he and the former Spice Girl are no longer an item and that the child she is carrying may not be his after all. Then, film producer Tracey Edmonds, who attended the 'Dreamgirls' premiere with Murphy confirmed it to 'People', adding that he is now her lover.
When the British media contacted Mel B, she was obviously shocked by what she had learned from the newspapers, given that she had no idea that she and Eddie were no longer together. Later on, she denied any allegation that the child she is carrying might not be Eddie's.
The very next morning, Mel jumped on a plane to L.A, where she met with her lawyers to see what can be done to solve the problem in her favor. '"He's a cheating, lying scumbag - he's the father of my baby and he knows it". Melanie is raging with anger. She wants to get her revenge on him for the way he is treating her. She met up with lawyers yesterday and plans to have more meetings and hire someone as soon as possible.', a friend of Melanie's told 'The Sun', taking bits and pieces of her conversations with her.
Rumor has it that Brown is set to leave Eddie penniless for that which he did to her by going public with matters that should have remained private. We will personally keep you up to speed with this.
