Earlier last month, we showed you a couple of officially looking renders showcasing Meizu’s upcoming MX5 smartphone, and we were impressed by the smartphone’s bezeless display which looked pretty gorgeous.

So if you were left lusting for the beautiful Meizu MX5, this week we bring you yet another teaser of the upcoming smartphone. The company’s next flagship has showed up in a video in which a person is presenting some of the phone's functions.

However, we must say that those who were hoping to see a sleek bezeless device will be a bit disappointed. It appears that Meizu has renounced plans of using an edge-to-edge display on its upcoming premium phone and has opted for one that bundles minimal bezels.

Actually, the MX5 looks quite similar to the MX4, which sports a curved back, soft edge, thin bezels and a camera sensor opening just like in the vein of Meizu.

The MX5 won't look extremely different from the MX4

However, we no longer have the capacitive home button in place, as it has been replaced by a hardware one that’s similar to what we have seen on the MX4 Pro.

A new render has also popped up online courtesy of French website Nowhere Else, also showing that the MX5 won’t be a bezeless smartphone.

We also have to share with you an updated spec list. The Meizu MX5 will reportedly arrive with a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pizels), even if previous rumors indicated that the phone would take advantage of a QHD panel.

It seems that Meizu is in no rush to follow the industry’s standard resolution-wise.

Anyway, moving forward, the handset is said to be powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor operating in concert with 3GB of RAM.

The phone will come equipped with a 20MP main camera, while a 5MP selfie shooter will adorn the front. The flagship will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of it. We also know that its life cycle will be sustained by a 3,150 mAh battery.

As always, keep in mind that these are unconfirmed specs, so you’d better take them with a grain of salt for the time being.
