Chinese handset maker Meizu has just announced the upcoming availability of its M1 Note phablet in India. The handset will go on sale on May 20 and customers will be able to get it for only $160 outright.

Meizu is readying for the launch of M1 Note 2, which is supposed to be unveiled on June 2. Once that happens, the current model will probably be considered old, though it only made it to market a few months ago.

Unfortunately, Meizu sells most of its products in China and rarely brings them to other countries. When that eventually happens, they arrive too late to still be considered new devices.

Anyway, Meizu M1 Note decent specs and a very low price, which make it perfect for an emerging market such as India.

It will be exclusive available via Amazon India

Customers who wish to purchase the M1 Note in India should know that Meizu has teamed up with Amazon, so you can only get it from this retailer. It's worth mentioning that the phablet will sell in blue, green, pink, yellow and white color options.

Moving on to specs, the only downside might be the fact that the phone runs an older version of FlymeOS based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The M1 Note might not receive an update to Lollipop until the sequel goes on sale.

On the inside, the phablet is equipped with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, 2GB of RAM and either 16GB of 32GB of internal memory.

Keep in mind that this is all the physical storage that you will get since Meizu M1 Note does not pack a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the bright side, the device sports a more than decent 5.5-inch IGZO capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and 403ppi (pixel per inch).

We also know that the M1 Note features a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front. The phone is powered by a 3140 mAh battery and offers both dual-SIM and 4G LTE support.
