Meizu is expected to launch the sequel to its M1 Note phablet in about two weeks. The Chinese company confirmed recently it will have a new product launch on June 2 where we believe the M1 Note 2 will be revealed.

Until then though, the first image of the Meizu M1 Note 2 has just been leaked on the Weibo account @ubuntu.

The picture confirms that the smartphone will run the latest version of FlymeOS, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, GizmoChina points out.

The picture also reveals the lack of fingerprint scanner, which was previously rumored to be present in Meizu M1 Note 2.

The fingerprint sensor should have been placed under the Home physical button, but according to the software on the leaked prototype, this is not the case.

Unfortunately, not many things are known about Meizu M1 Note 2, but we suspect more details on its specs will emerge in the coming days.

Since we're less than two weeks from its official unveil, it's worth mentioning that the smartphone will be introduced in China initially, but it might be released in other countries as well.

However, it might take some time until the M1 Note 2 makes its debut in other countries considering the older M1 Note 1 will be released in India on May 20, about 5 months after its official launch in China.

It will have the same price as the predecessor

One thing we know for sure and that's the fact that Meizu M1 Note 2 will sell in China for only 999 yuan outright, which is about $160 or €140. That's the same amount for which the M1 Note 1 was available at launch.

Other than that, there's nothing certain about Meizu's M1 Note 2 phablet, though we kind of hope for some pretty decent specs like 5.5-inch display and at least 2GB of RAM (if not 3GB).

We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter so stay tuned for more info on Meizu's upcoming M1 Note 2 unveil.
