Their CEO claims they didn't copy the iPhone... that much!

Meizu is a company which masters the art of cloning and their cloning machine seems to do a very good work in the opinion of many people. Their latest masterpiece, the iPhone clone they are calling miniOne, is probably one of the best clones ever to go public as I know of.

And, although everybody says they copied the Apple phone, Meizu's CEO tries to convince us this is not the case and states they had their device up and going for show and tell four days before Steve Jobs presented the iPhone during his keynote at MacWorld.

Furthermore, he sustains that, after the iPhone was publicly released, they continued tweaking their own device to make it look as much different from the iPhone as possible. He also said Meizu put in about 1 million $ in the research for miniOne's 720 x 480 pixels resolution display.

In the end, he declared they will eventually change their phone's design if Apple will sue them and I guess this will be the thing they will have to do if they want to come clean.

I don't really know what to believe but this declaration sounds very fishy to me. If they're Chinese and they even think they will go away safe and sound without getting their ass dragged all around court houses in a lawsuit filled by Apple, they are totally wrong. Why am I saying that? Well, probably because they are the same guys that cloned Apple's iPod and this is a good enough reason to not have even the smallest chance of getting credit.

These things don't matter though because, if you take a look at the attached photos, it seems Meizu will still get the miniOne on the market. These pics don't have that render look we are so well used to and this means this thing is real and coming our way.

What happens next only time will tell.
