First, it was husband David Beckham who was approached by renowned label Armani to become the face (and body) for its latest underwear line. Then, Victoria too was signed on and had her own campaign developed, with the two joining forces and doing a joint campaign for the latest collection. Since Posh has refused to extend her collaboration with Armani, Megan Fox will replace her, Fashionologie says.

Neither Armani nor the Beckham camp has yet made any official statement on the termination of the contract, although rumors in all fashion circles say it’s a given. Victoria, it seems, wants to focus on her own fashion endeavors and an extra clause that would be added to a new contract – i.e. to travel around the world to promote the lingerie collection – would stand in her way of doing that. Therefore, Armani is considering replacing her with the hottest “female commodity” on the scene right now, Megan Fox.

“So who’s going to fill the spot [Victoria] just left for Armani underwear? Elle creative director Joe Zee reports: ‘LA is buzzing that Megan Fox is signed to replace her.’ Fox would make sense; she did just attend the Armani Prive couture show at the beginning of July.” writes the aforementioned fashion-oriented e-zine. If so, and Fox is indeed signed with Armani for the upcoming campaign, fans are in for a real treat, judging by the way the label pushed Posh and reports that say it aims to compete with Calvin Klein and its Eva Mendes-centered campaign.

Speaking of which, reports have it that it was precisely this comparison with Mendes that got Posh to refuse to extend the contract for another campaign, as an unnamed source tells gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Mendes, unlike Victoria, does a lot of traveling and public appearances to promote CK, whereas the former Spice Girl can hardly be bothered to do one major gig, as it’s common knowledge. Nevertheless, sales for the lingerie collection have gone up by 80 percent since she was signed, which means she does not really have to promote the line more than she already does, by posing for the ads.

“So once she was about to sign the next contract, which she was willing at the time, her lawyers told her that Armani has added a clause that she would HAVE to do the promotions around the world. It was the last drop for her, so she declined to renew it. When she was in New York at Macys promoting the new campaign, they had to twist her arm to do it anyway, but Armani will go with what her PR came up with as to why she is no more the face because they still have David contracted, and don’t want to project any bad blood.” the anonymous, but reportedly reliable, source tells Perez.
