Lifetime producers are to choose between Fox and Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan's comeback to feature films, even if only for television for the time being, might be threatened already. Producers of a potential Elizabeth Taylor biopic are also considering Megan Fox for the part, it has emerged.

A short while ago, word got out that Lindsay was the prime contender for the leading role in an upcoming biopic, a rumor that made many fans of the late screen icon upset that someone would even consider Lindsay would be a suitable choice for the project.

Now, E! Online reports that Megan Fox is also considered for the leading part, together with a bevy of other actresses whose identity hasn't been revealed to the press.

“I've been talking to Lindsay Lohan directly, and with her reps, and have been in conversations with other actresses, including Megan Fox,” Larry Thompson, executive producer of Lifetime's Liz and Dick, says for E! News.

He stresses that talking to more actresses to see which one is the best fit for the part is one way of ensuring the success of the project, which is being treated just as seriously as they would a big Hollywood production.

“It's a very serious selection. It's like casting for Hollywood royalty,” Thompson says.

Talking to other potential leading ladies for the same part might not be meant as an affront to either actress, but insiders whisper that Lindsay's long-standing legal issues might prove a career obstacle once more.

“A source tells E! News that while Lohan is still one of the frontrunners for the role, her probation status is 'a complication',” the celebrity e-zine reports.

“Lohan, who is on probation until the end of March, is due back in court Tuesday morning to face the judge in a probation status update hearing,” adds E!.

The complication could arise from the possibility of Lindsay not completing her probation with flying colors because Lifetime wants to get started on the biopic as early as this spring.

Shooting is scheduled to take place in Canada but, for the time being, these are the only details available.
