Fresh off her run with her horror comedy “Jennifer’s Body,” Megan Fox will start work on another project, this time much bigger and, of course, more expensive: the next installment in the “Batman” franchise, alongside the likes of Christian Bale and Michael Cain. The “Transformers” stunner has agreed to do Catwoman, thus officially becoming the youngest actress ever to don the leather suit, as the New York Daily News can confirm.

The report seems to have originated in the British media, with The Sun tabloid, which claims to have it from very reliable sources that Fox has already signed her name on the Catwoman contract for the next “Batman.” This, we might as well mention, in a context in which the so-called upcoming film has not even been confirmed yet and of which Michael Caine was saying a while back it was put on indefinite hold.

“The buzz that ‘Transformers’ starlet Megan Fox might take the iconic role of Catwoman comes just before her movie ‘Jennifer’s Body’ is released. Though almost certainly not true, that casting would make Fox the youngest Catwoman ever.” the NY Daily News writes, hinting that this might very well be a rumor started by someone from her agency and meant to get her profile higher – if such a thing is even a possibility anymore. This is also the reason why other US publications and e-zines are calling the bluff on this report, all the while admitting, though, that there is a slight possibility it could actually be true.

Unfortunately, the same was also said about rumors of Fox doing Wonder Woman, Lara Croft and She-Hulk, all of which proved to be nothing but pure speculation, since the star was not even approached in view of an audition for the part. Moreover, even if she had been contacted for the part, Megan would have probably been forced to turn down the one for Wonder Woman, one of the most iconic female comic-book characters of all times, because she considered her “lame,” as the actress put it a while back.

“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero. She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.” the “Transformers” star was saying a while back, much to the disappointment of fans all over the world.
