Megan Fox Says Olsen Twins Are Socially Awkward

Actress Megan Fox is not exactly famous for how she can keep interviews on the topic or not bad-mouth other people in the industry, whom she may have worked with. The same applies for the Olsen twins, whom she describes as socially “awkward.”

Though not many may know this, Megan and the Olsen sisters once worked together for a film, back in the day when the former was not that famous, but the twins were.

This, Megan says in a recent interview cited by GossipCenter, meant that they were rather awkward in public because they’d grown up in the spotlight and did not know how to interact with people in normal circumstances.

It was 2001, and Fox starred with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in “Holiday in the Sun.” All three were about 15, the “Transformers” hottie reckons, but she was the only one perfectly capable of relating to others on the set.

“They’re nice girls. The first time I had ever been around someone really famous was them. We were kids, I was about 15 and so were they,” the stunner explains.

Also then, Fox got to see for herself what this kind of media exposure and fame can do to a girl because the Olsens really didn’t know how to be themselves when surrounded by people.

“I saw how awkward socially they were with large groups of people because they had been famous their whole lives and looked at their whole lives and I didn’t understand why anyone would be like that,” Fox says.

“I had no understanding about why you would shut down and be afraid and have phobias, but as it happens to you, you sort of develop them and become crazy,” the star further says.

This is not the first time that Megan Fox talks about fame, though it is a first in terms of picking on the Olsens, who have long retired from of the spotlight and are now pursuing a career focused more on fashion.

In previous interviews, Fox said that she never wanted to be the celebrity she’s now because all she ever dreamed of doing was to act and make a name for herself in movies.

However, since the media would focus on her as a celeb, this meant she was not given the chance to show her worth as a thespian, Megan would often say, which has gotten her even more criticism because, if anything, she’s been given plenty of chances.

Elena you are so gullible, she did not bad mouth them at all, if you watched the video interview she talked nice of them, don't fall in the trap of spin article...very misleading article....twins retired from acting? please fact check your articles. watch the video on youtube, you'll be surprised how inaccurate this is

Sheep, thank you for your comment. Perhaps the term “bad-mouth” was a bit too strong but calling someone in the media “socially awkward” and “crazy” is not exactly praising either, is it. Hypothetically speaking, what would you personally say of someone who called you that?

In her defense, Megan may be stating the truth (and she DOES say the Olsens are nice girls), but there’s always such a thing as professional courtesy, which, I would assume, should have prevented her from talking about their personal life with the press.

If Megan doesn’t like it when the media focuses on her personal life, why does she bring the spotlight on others’? Especially when it’s something bad, may I add.

Speaking of spotlight, this is where the Olsens retired from (sort of) – not from acting. I didn’t say that. For years, the girls have been working hard at consolidating their business empire. They still make movies and appear in TV shows, do magazine covers but their main interest (and they said it themselves) is to show they can be good fashion designers.

I’m not gullible, you may have just read in the above article only what you wanted to see. Neither am I out to mislead anyone by presenting half-truths. Either way, thank you again for your comment.

Best, Elena.

well socially awkward is just a fancy term for shy, which i am, so that isn't really a negative thing....other people have said the same things of Jim Carrey and others how they have larger than life personality on screen but when you see them in person it can be a bit shocking they are not like that...and also she is not making anyone out to be literally "crazy"...also she is talking more about herself, in other news Leo DiCaprio once said Fame can make you nuts, and Leo isn't crazy by Hollywood standards, it's more about how fame can make you act different

Not retire. Olsen Twins still acting

Sheep, true, I agree. However, there’s a HUGE difference between Leo’s statement and Megan’s, namely that he said it about himself, while she about two people she once worked with and who are known for liking to keep to themselves at all times.

Just like you, I too would describe myself as shy, and I could say there are situations in which I may be “socially awkward.” Of course that’s not a bad thing, not if it doesn’t hurt anyone. HOWEVER, if someone who knows this about me goes on the record, in front of the camera, with these exact words, then I might have a problem.

On the other hand, this no longer has anything to do with the article, this is just us making it about us. :)

Best,
Elena.
