A few years ago, before she managed to cross Michael Bay and pretty much everyone else in the movie industry (including fans and critics), Megan Fox was absolutely the hottest thing on the planet. Then, she went away, found herself, discovered motherhood, and is now a whole new person.

Megan and husband Brian Austin Green have two children together: Noah, who is almost 2, and Bodhi, who is only a few months old. The stunning actress sat down with Parents.com to talk about the joys of motherhood, how it changed her life, and what plans she has to raise these two boys.

For starters, she says, motherhood has made her realize that what she once considered to be her “dream job,” that of being an actress, is far from that. Megan is aware that this might sound cliché but she insists that her entire life right now revolves around her sons and their family, and that the only reason she’s still doing movies is because she wants to pay for their education, to provide for them.

Clearly, she’s already thought about the future a lot. Like every other parent out there, Megan is concerned about the development of her kids and she’s decided that, for now, the best thing for them is to bar them from watching television, owning a computer, or using a cell phone.

She describes life at home right now as “total chaos” because she doesn’t want to leave her eldest in front of the television while she watches over the youngest, she wants to get him involved as well.

“I do let them watch movies, I just don’t let them watch TV,” Fox clarifies. “With movies I feel like there’s a beginning, a middle and an end. It’s linear. There’s a clear story. I think that it’s different than just putting a kid in front of the television, because it’s just nonstop. They’re just being bombarded with all of this sort of live media and it’s very overwhelming and it’s too stimulating I think for anyone. I don’t watch television because it’s just too much it overwhelms me. I just can’t deal with it.”

“But I do let them watch movies,” she continues. “I remember going to the theater to see movies with my dad or my mom and those are special moments for me. One day they’re gonna watch television. I can’t keep it from them forever. My intention is to keep it away as long as possible or to introduce it through Apple TV so they’re not being exposed to the commercials constantly. My goal is no computers, no cell phones until at least 8th grade.”

Since her self-imposed exile, Megan hasn’t done too many interviews, with the only exception being those times when she had a new movie to promote. The same applies here: she and Michael Bay kissed and made up eventually, and he asked her to appear in the new “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film he’s producing.

Fox plays reporter April O’Neil, as you might have heard. “TMNT” drops in theaters this August.
