Megan Fox, star of the “Transformers” franchise and universally acknowledged hottie, has officially become the face and body for Armani Underwear, with the upcoming women’s line having her as the main star, WWD informs. This comes to confirm earlier reports that Fox has been sought out as Victoria Beckham’s replacement but, as of now, further details on the deal are not yet available.

Victoria Beckham has done a great job for Armani, alongside husband David, who’s been featured in no less than four campaigns throughout the years. However, the family and the desire to make a name for herself in the world of fashion have determined the former Posh Spice to decide the collaboration must end. A replacement was almost immediately found in the person of Megan Fox, as we also reported a while ago.

Not only has Fox been signed for the gig, but the first steps towards making the upcoming campaign happen have also been taken, Women’s Wear Daily says. According to reports currently circulating in the media, the 23-year-old star has already taken part in a photoshoot in Los Angeles last weekend, with famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Since Fox is to become the face of the Spring/Summer 2010 line and promotion for it should debut in the near future, an official announcement for Armani is bound to drop soon enough.

“So who’s going to fill the spot [Victoria] just left for Armani underwear? Elle creative director Joe Zee reports: ‘LA is buzzing that Megan Fox is signed to replace her.’ Fox would make sense; she did just attend the Armani Prive couture show at the beginning of July.” Fashionologie was writing a short while back following speculation that Mrs. Beckham was thinking of breaking ties with the fashion giant, as we also informed you at the time.

In other Armani-lingerie news, David Beckham has also ended his contract to try to launch his own line of underwear, as reports would have it. He has been officially replaced by another hot football star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
