Mega Man X Hints and Unlockables (PC)

Mega Man X, released in 1993 by Capcom, is the first game in the Mega Man X series. The first subseries of the popular Mega Man series, it was made primarily as a stepping stone between the NES and SNES incarnations of the original series (Mega Man games were released on the NES as late as 1994). In Japan, it is entitled Rockman X. It was released on the SNES first, then ported to the PC in 1995. The game was remade in 2006 as Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (Irregular Hunter X in Japan), for the PlayStation Portable.

X is heralded as being the first robot to think for himself, as well as having his own feelings and emotions. He was discovered by Dr. Cain in a capsule sealed by Dr. Light to be opened thirty years later after he was encapsulated (although X was actuality sealed for 100 years). Using X as inspiration, Dr. Cain created a new race of robots called Reploids. Some of these robots turned "maverick" and began to threaten the existence of the human race. X feels it is his duty to protect humans, which serves as the main conflict between the Reploids and the Mavericks.

Unlockables and Hints

Body Armor
Go to Sting Chameleon's level. The armor is up in a corner of a wall right above the entrance into the main level. To be able to get this, you must have Leg Armor. Climb up the wall, and there is a boss waiting for you. Defeat him, and the armor will appear in about ten seconds.

Easier Game
When the game begins, type "xstuff" for all weapons and tanks and no sub-bosses.

Helmet
Go to Storm Eagle's stage. There is a section with a long tall white grayish matter of some sort, with another side. Go to the other side. Blow up the dynamite. Dash on the edge and land on the other side where the dynamite used to be. Go to the end and there is the capsule.

Leg Armor
Go to Chill Penguin's level and play a normal game.

The Ha-Do-Can Fireball
On the Armored Armadillo stage, towards the end, when you fly into the mountain on the trolley, climb up the mountain, and collect anything that you find up on top. Now Beat Armored Armadillo and return to this level.

Go through the level 5 or 6 times without using any weapon but the x-buster or sub-tank with all body enhancements and heart tanks. The 5th or 6th time you should see Dr. Light in a ninja costume. Get it and you will get a secret weapon which can only be used with full health.

Weapon Enhancement
Go to Flame Mammoth's stage. Play until you fall down a big hole which leads to the section with the heart. Jump on the rim, and then dash and land on the wall, and keep going until the top. There is another capsule waiting for you.
