Many years ago, Meg Ryan unofficially retired from Hollywood to spend more time with her family. It seems that she’s ready to come back now because she just landed her own series for NBC, People magazine confirms.

The network has ordered just the pilot for the moment but, if all goes well and it’s received enthusiastically by viewers, it will be picked up for an entire season.

The celebrity publication reports that, in the series, Meg Ryan will play a “‘a sunny, devoted and desperately non-confrontational’ single mom who decides to return to work at her former publishing house, where she will be supervised by her 30-year-old former intern.”

I imagine the tone of the series will be light-hearted, though probably not too much to make it a comedy.

No start production date or release has yet been announced but rest assured you’ll find out more about it here when the time comes.
