Actress Meg Ryan has landed a role that is very similar to the one Bob Saget got on “How I Met Your Mother” when he provided his voice for future Ted. Now, Ryan is going to lend her voice to the character of “future Sally” and, just like Saget, she won't get any screen time.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the actress is going to play a big part in the series that is considered to be one of the tent poles for CBS' schedule next season. Her character is going to be played on screen by Greta Gerwig.

Movie enthusiasts will recognize the former bubbly blond as one of the most famous romantic comedies actresses from the ‘90s, after her breakthrough role in 1989's “When Harry Met Sally.” Among her other comedic big hits, there were “Sleepless in Seattle” and “In the Cut.”

Ryan comes in to complete a star-studded cast that reveals how much stock CBS is putting on their new creation, despite the fact that the original series, “How I Mey Your Mother” has met with severe criticism, especially over the ending which many felt wasn't in tune with the overall message the series had been trying to convey.
