The possibility of connecting one's iPod to a car's audio system is actually nothing new, as the number of devices available on the market that can be used for achieving this task is quite large. However, the DLO (Digital Lifestyle Outfitters) company has taken things a step further, and launched the FM Transmitter + Remote Control for iPod, a very versatile accessory that will help users improve their in-car, iPod-related music experience.

Thus, the TuneStik is a combo between a wireless FM transmitter and an RF remote for the iPod, which can be used either in the car or just about in every place where there's an FM radio. You might say that this is nothing you haven't seen before, and you might have a point, but the people from DLO claim that their device is quite unique, due to the fact that it features the said remote control, as well as an integrated pass-through dock connector, which allows the users to combine the TuneStik with a very wide range of iPod accessories. However, the device doesn't work with as many iPod models as we would have expected, since it's only compatible with the nano (1'st and 2'nd generations), mini, 4'th generation and video iPods.

The FM transmitter module of the TuneStik works on the 88.1-107.9MHz frequencies, has a frequency response of 50Hz ? 18KHz, and provides users with an operating range of around 8 meters, which is quite enough for any ordinary car. The device features a built-in antenna, uses FM stereo modulation, is powered directly from the iPod's battery and is not exactly bulky, measuring just 0.45mm x 11.13mm x 25.7mm, at a weight of just around 10 grams.

The remote control module provides a range of up to 12 meters, and works on the 433.92 Mhz radio frequency. This module requires a battery (Panasonic CR2025 3V), but it's also quite portable, measuring just around 58.33mm x 27.95mm x 5.21mm, at a weight of around 7 grams.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
