Designer Antonio De Rosa says the concept was inspired by Steve Jobs

Antonio De Rosa is at it again with a brand new (and downright gorgeous) conceptual design for the next-generation iPhone. He says this one is inspired by Steve Jobs, which makes it even more worthy of nabbing a spot in the hall of fame for iPhone 5 mockups.

De Rosa says his iPhone SJ boasts a “totally glass capacitive screen on a polycarbonate lightweight body.”

“New design inspired by Steve Jobs, new core with A6 dual core processor, new camera 10 Mpx,” reads the description, which ends with an Apple-inspired tagline - “A classic reinvented. Again.”

The handset envisioned by De Rosa is much thinner than the current generation of iPhones, and Apple wouldn’t have it any other way for the real thing.

Of course, it’s hard to achieve this level of thinness and still cram inside everything the iPhone 4S has, plus some extra features and battery mileage. In other words, it’s next to impossible. Then again, this is just a concept.

The iPhone 5 was expected to debut at Apple’s October 4 event last year, but the company only unveiled an upgraded version of the existing iPhone 4. Dubbed iPhone 4S, the latest Apple smartphone has a dual core A5 chip, an enhanced camera, and the Siri personal assistant, to name a few of the key features.

The next iPhone is expected to arrive this fall. If Apple wants to keep the ‘innovation’ flame burning, the iPhone 5 will have to look a lot like De Rosa’s concept.

Working with ADR Studio in Italy, De Rosa is responsible for numerous Apple-centric renderings, including one iCam concept that puts together the mockups of an iPhone 5 and an interchangeable lens camera.

However, a Turkish designer going by the name of Zeki Ozek has claimed he was the first to come up with the iCam design. Although the two concepts are relatively different, both envision the same product.
