Now Altair has partnered with Taiwanese OEM/ODM FIC in order to bring to life the world’s first 3.5GHz 4G LTE-enabled tablet, which uses the FourGee-3800/6300 chipset to offer support for a very wide frequency band span between 700-3800MHz.
The device is being marketed as the Elija TF9300 and will be showcased for the first time during an industry event in Tokyo taking place between June 17 and 20.
Until now, the only 3.5GHz enabled products were desktop modems and dongles, but with the birth of Elija, the standard is being pushed into the mainstream.
The slate is a quad-core tablet coming with a 9.7-inch IPS display boasting ultra wide degree viewing angle.
The processor inside is a Freescale quad-core 1.0GHz chip fitted with 1GB of internal storage and works alongside a capable 6400mAh battery. The slate is said to support full 1080p video playback and USB OTG (on-the-go).
The default operating system on board is Android 4.3, but there’s no mention if the tablet is going to be updated to Android 4.4, at some point. Information about pricing is also non-existent.
