Imagine activating Siri on your iPhone and realizing the assistant speaks in your voice. Creepy, right? That’s how Susan Bennett felt the first time she long-pressed that Home button on an iPhone 4S.

CNN has obtained an exclusive interview with Susan Bennett from Atlanta, the voice of Siri on Apple’s iPhone and iPad. She admitted it was a little creepy the first time she’d heard her own voice take and offer instructions, but now she’s at peace with it.

Bennett revealed to CNN that she had no idea her voice, recorded at Apple in July of 2005 (likely for the OS X’s VoiceOver function), would end up being used as the voice of the world’s most famous personal assistant six years later.

In the clip embedded below, she also tells interviewers her voice has been used for the first-ever ATM, and that she can sometimes hear herself make announcements in airport speakers.
