PETA sure knows how to show their pointy teeth and make fun of the people they hate. I mean, I always suspected that the PETA folks were a merry bunch, if only because they had the chance to stare at all those celebrity naked photos before releasing them. You know, being that close to the original shots of Alicia Silverstone or Eva Mendes stark naked was bound to make your life a little better - but that was entirely my opinion. However, when PETA brings out the big guns, you'd better not be the ones they're aimed at. The latest target of PETA's rage are our favorite twins in the world, the Olsens.
Only we're not allowed to call them by their real names anymore. PETA is so infuriated with the two millionaire sisters that they have set up a MySpace account and a website dedicated entirely to "The Trollsens" (I know, it's absolutely brilliant), which they have re-named Hairy Kate Trollsen and Trashley Trollsen. And what are they trying to do? Well, stop the twins from displaying their diminutive selves to the world draped in fur and also remove fur from their fashion collections.
I think it's kinda funny to watch the length to which PETA has gone to make a fool of the two Olsens. The "Trollsen's" MySpace page reads: "Hi, we're Hairy Kate and Trashley Trollsen, and like most trolls, we live under a bridge and wait for furry animals to walk by so we can skin them and wear them as hats. Because we're celebrities, we don't have to live by the same rules that ugly people like you do, and if we want to wrap ourselves up in someone else's skin, or drape our bodies in the rotting remains of someone's family, we totally can! And boy, do we ever". I must say, that little bit had me rolling on the floor laughing. I mean, it may be pushed to the extreme, but I can totally picture Mary Kate and Ashley jumping out at unsuspecting animals from under a bridge. Wicked!
The only problem is, I'm not sure the two girls will care too much about the PETA campaign, as we all know they seem to live in a world of their own anyway. Not too much contact with the outside world - well, except to hook up with one guy or another and make the headlines every other day. But other than that, for the Olsens less is more. "No one would argue that Mary-Kate and Ashley could use some meat on their bones, but the last thing they need is hair on their backs" PETA adds. It will be interesting to see how this little story unfolds - so stay tuned and we'll bring you the latest news.
