14 DAY TRIAL // Brad Pitt can command a small fortune for a single ad (and he rarely does those), so he's not the number one man to go to for an endorsement deal. Luckily, Virgin Mobile Australia has a better idea: meet the other Pitt, Brad's brother, Doug.
Doug is a regular guy, a businessman who also runs a charity, and is never in the spotlight.
This is precisely the premise of the ad: because he's so “normal,” Virgin Mobile Australia is giving him the chance of a lifetime by giving him his own celebrity endorsement deal.
“Doug's just a regular guy. He washes his own car, pays his own bills, and does his own laundry. You see, unlike his famous bro, Doug's never been the star of anything,” the narrator says in the first ad released.
While the concept of this ad is interesting, something about its execution totally bugs. It could be just us but, by the end of the clip, we're almost feeling sorry for Doug because he's not famous – and we're almost certain he's quite happy with his life as it is.
