Meet The Latest Thanko MP4 Metal Watch!

Following the latest trend in the industry to create not simple wrist watches, but amazingly functional ones, Thanko introduces a new Mp4 wrist watch.

This time, the company decided to replace the cheap-looking plastic, with a hard high quality - as they say - metal. Apparently, the watch seems much more solid this time. It comes with a generous large display, so it should be no problem if you decide to watch an M.A.S.H on your way to the office.

The screen helps prevent you from getting sore eyes after an hour or so of continuous viewing. The display supports a 128 x 128 pixels resolution, but if you have encoded the video content in widescreen format, it does 160 x 128 as well. It looks much better than the previous version at many levels: the screen in larger, the casing looks nicer and the capabilities are definitely improved since last time I saw one of these.

The manufacturers decided to release two versions of the intelligent wrist watch, so they come in 2GB and 4GB storage capacity, with prices around $220.

The MP4 watch features a nice video player, an MP3 and WMA player, a nice photo viewer, that likes BMP and JPEG files and a voice recorder. Nevertheless, it could be used as a standard digital watch.

I should probably say that the video playback can be in any of the AVI, MPEG or WMV formats, so you'll see just about anything you want. And in case you were wondering, the connection to your PC is done through a super small USB port, on the watch itself. As for the battery life, it is rated at 10 hours for the audio playback and four for the video content, while the charging is done through the included AC adapter or by USB. I couldn't care less about its ability to tell the time.
