Animal themed computer peripherals are nothing new, but every now and then hardware manufacturing companies design and market some remarkable devices that stand out either through their design, functionality or something entirely different. United Pepper is one such hardware manufacturing company that in a partnership with EuroTech now markets two cute USB based computer peripherals, one USB hub and a Web enabled camera with an integrated microphone.

The two new computer peripherals are dubbed Lili and Oscar and they are available in four distinct colors including red, blue and green, while being constructed from recyclable materials like cotton, sand, kapok and paperboard.

Lili is the octopus shaped webcam that offers a distinct alternative to the traditional black, white and silver colored webcams while providing users with a high quality image thanks to its integrated 1.3 megapixel camera and microphone for video conferencing.

On the other hand, Oscar is a starfish shaped USB 2.0 hub that allows users to increase the number of high speed USB ports available to a computer system and thanks to its driver free design it is able to connect to just any USB based device as soon as it pops out of the box.

''The mission at United Pepper is to produce technology products in a sustainable and ecological way,'' said Xavier Petre, founder of United Pepper. ''We want to move the "fairtrade" concept away from traditional products and into a brand new area. Ecology is also important to us. We are rediscovering natural products that replace, and improve on, petroleum based materials.''

Both of these brand new and cute looking computer peripherals are going to be available by the middle of September and they will come at a price tag of $40 for the USB hub and $60 for the webcam and microphone combo unit.
