A new chat application is now available for download for BlackBerry devices from Research In Motion, namely Meebo. Currently available in a beta version, the application offers access to various social networks out there, all in a single view. Through the new application, users can enjoy features like account management while on the go, chat with friends on AIM, Yahoo!, Google, Facebook and more.
“Finally, a Meebo app designed especially for
BlackBerry. It’s fast, it’s free, and it’s just plain nice to look at. Available now for touch-screen and trackball models,” the company notes on its website.
The new mobile software solution is available for all devices in series 8000 or 9000 that run under Blackberry OS 4.5 or higher.
Some of the main features of
the application include:
- Connect to Meebo and with it all of your social networking and IM accounts that are connected to Meebo, including Yahoo!, Facebook, AOL, MySpace, MSN, Google Talk, and more.
- Add, remove, and manage IM network accounts connected to your Meebo ID.
- Connect with all of your buddies on any of the IM or social network accounts connected to your Meebo ID.
- Be completely synchronized with Meebo - browse and search every conversation you have ever had on Meebo.The solution would offer
BlackBerry users the possibility to access full Meebo chat history with any user, synchronize IM sessions, smart notifications, and location control, seamlessly move from a conversation on the BlackBerry device to the desktop and back, and more.
According to Meebo, the new mobile software should set a new standard in BlackBerry app design.
