Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is expected to bring to the market in the near future a series of new devices, some of which would run under the MeeGo platform, and some leaked photos and specs of what seems to be the first such product emerged recently.

We already knew that Nokia would be set to launch its first MeeGo handset sometime in the first quarter of the ongoing year, but the new device seems to be somehow different than the already rumored Nokia N9 MeeGo-based smartphone.

However, Nokia was previously rumored to be working on a tablet PC that would sport the codename of Z500, though some of the latest rumors on it suggested that the company might have actually canceled it.

The MeeGo-based Nokia device that can be seen in the photos attached to this article emerged over at the mobile-review forums.

No specific details on the handset's hardware specs emerged, but we can have a look at it and make an idea on what Nokia might be set to offer to its users in the near future.

According to a recent article on Engadget, the fact that this device sports a landscape centered Nokia logo might suggest that the device is meant primarily for landscape use, and that its phone capabilities might be only secondary features.

As for the screen size, rumor has it that it might be a 4.5-inch one, though confirmation has to arise.

The photos show the unannounced Nokia device with what seems to be the stock version of MeeGo, and it remains to be seen whether the company would pack it with a different OS flavor when launched or not.

The device in these photos is not final, which means that it might not arrive on shelves in the immediate future.

However, since no official announcement on it was made for the time being, we should wait for that to happen before making suppositions on its availability.
