With sales of desktop computer systems not likely to pick up anytime soon, PC vendors continue to update their portfolio with the introduction of new form factors, specifically tailored to meet the requirements of today's mainstream users. On that note, Medion has recently announced the introduction of a new computer system that has been featured with a large touch-screen display and an all-in-one design that will provide users with the necessary performance to run the latest media applications. Dubbed Touch X9613, the new all-in-one PC from Medion, is likely to compete with similar offerings from the likes of HP, ASUS and MSI.

The new system has just been released in Germany and has been featured with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 processor, coupled with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M graphics card. The system has been specifically designed for multimedia applications and boasts a large 24-inch multi-touch display, with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and integrated DVB-T, DVB-S and analog tuners.

Additional features include the optional Blu-ray or DVD Multi Burner optical drive, 1TB of storage space, multi-in-1 card reader, integrated 2MP webcam and microphone, two built-in speakers and subwoofer, integrated SideShow display and a complete line of connectivity options, including wireless 802.11 n, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth 2.1. The I/O options are also pretty decent, with 1 eSATA, three USB 2.0, ExpressCard slot, S/PDIF, Mic-in and Line-in, HDMI In and HDMI Out, VGA and SCART In.

No word on whether the company plans to launch the system in other parts of the world, but considering the aforementioned specifications you should expect a rather high price tag. According to available details, the system is expected to go for around 1,499 EUR or 1,900 EUR, depending on configuration.
