European notebook maker Medion has just announced the UK availability of two new 15.6-inch gaming laptops from the company's Erazer series which are touted as being a great companion for the games expected this Holiday season.

Despite using different chassis both of these Medion Erazer notebooks are built around the same Intel Core i7-2630QM processor that packs no less than four processing cores with Hyper-Threading support and comes clocked at 2GHz.

The fast Intel Sandy Bridge CPU is paired together with 4GB of system memory and is seconded by Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics.

In the case of the Erazer X6813, the GPU of choice is the GeForce GTX 460M which comes paired with 1.5GB of video buffer, while the second notebook announced by Medion, the X6815, uses the GT 555M equipped with 2GB of memory.

No matter which of the two notebook models are chosen, the GPU is responsible for driving a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution display that measures 15.6-inch in diagonal.

The rest of the configuration list is fairly standard for a modern gaming notebook and includes a hard drive delivering up to 750GB of storage, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth connectivity, a 3MP webcam, a DVD burner, as well as 2.1-channel audio with Dolby Home Theater v3 certification.

Furthermore, the somewhat larger X6813 also comes with enough room for two 2.5-inch drives, the second compartment being occupied by an 80GB SSD.

Along the sides of Medion's latest notebooks, users will find all the usual ports and connectors, including a multi-format cards reader, HDMI and VGA video outputs as well as eSATA and USB 3.0 storage ports.

Pricing for the Erazer X6813 has been established by Medion at £1,099 ($1,718 or 1,274 EUR), while its smaller brother, the X6815, is listed at £699 ($1,092 or 810 EUR).
