Tablet/laptop convertibles are rising high in consumer preferences these days and brand vendors are racing to produce the most desirable product, all complete with an attractive price tag.

Medion might not be the first manufacturer you think of when convertibles are concerned (I personally think of Sony or ASUS), but the company has a pretty decent hybrid out on the market. The model, called Akoya P2211T, is currently available for purchase in the UK from the official Medion website, for a price of £425 / $695 / €508.

The convertible features an 11.6-inch widescreen IPS display with HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and draws power from a powerful Intel Celeron processor N2920 coupled with 2GB of RAM, backed up by 500GB hard drive and 64GB flash memory.

The battery life is a pretty powerful one, so you should be able to get up to 10 hours of work and play-related activities on the convertible. The device ships with Windows 8.1 out of the box, so it's perfect for perfect for being productive as well.

The tablet unit is supposed to weigh only 840 g /1.8 pounds, which is a little bit bulkier than other models, but decent enough. The tablet base bundles USB 2.0, USB 3.0, microHDMI and microSD card while the keyboard dock only has 2 UBS 2.0 ports and no secondary battery.
