14 DAY TRIAL // Medion just announced that it has expanded its notebook portfolio with the addition of a new 15.6-inch gaming notebook based on Intel's quad-core mobile processors and featuring Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics.
The new notebook is housed inside a gray case with a brushed aluminum lid proudly engraved with the word Erazer, to underline the notebook's belonging to this gaming PC line.
Moving past the design of the Erazer X6811 and taking a look at the specifications of this laptop, the first thing one notices is the previous-gen Core i7-740QM processor installed that includes no less than four processing cores with Hyper-Threading support clocked at 1.73GHz.
The fast Intel CPU is paired together with 6GB of DDR3-1333 system memory, as well as with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M graphics core paired together with 1.5GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM.
In Medion's creation, this GPU is responsible for driving a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution display that measures 15.6-inch in diagonal.
The rest of the configuration list is fairly standard for a gaming notebook and includes a 500GB hard drive with a spindle speed of 7200RPM seconded by an SSD with a capacity of 128GB.
Users also get Wi-Fi b/g/n, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth connectivity, a 3MP webcam, a DVD burner, as well as 2.1-channel audio with Dolby Home Theater v4 certification.
Along the sides of its notebook, Medion installed all the usual ports and connectors, including a multi-format cards reader, HDMI and VGA video outputs as well as eSATA and USB 3.0 storage ports.
When configured together with the standard Li-ion 9-cell battery pack, the Erazer X6811 tips the scales at just over 3.5Kg (almost 8 pounds).
In Europe, the X6811 Medion Erazer retails for 854 Euros ($1,159 US) according to Laptop Spirit, a price which may prove to be extremely attractive for gamers looking for a powerful 15.6-inch notebook with a Full HD display.
