Thousands of people are currently suffering with various GADs (Generalized Anxiety Disorders).

Therefore, the news that a medicinal South Pacific plant can be an efficient alternative treatment for such conditions is likely to be welcomed by many who do not keep pharmaceutical products very close at heart.

According to EurekAlert, the medicinal plant now said to fight anxiety is known to the scientific community as Kava.

By the looks of it, a first-of-its-kind clinical study has shown that, apart from its being linked to a lower risk of dependency, the people who take this treatment are less likely to experience unpleasant side effects.

“Based on previous work we have recognised that plant based medicines may be a viable treatment for patients with chronic anxiety.”

“In this study we've been able to show that Kava offers a potential natural alternative for the treatment of chronic clinical anxiety,” says Dr. Jerome Sarris of the University of Melbourne.

It is to be expected that further research on Kava's ability to treat anxiety will shortly follow.
