The company will launch quad-core and octa-core 64-bit chips soon

Chinese chip maker MediaTek will bring to the market some of the first mobile processors out there to be based on the 64-bit Cortex-A53 from ARM, leaked info that emerged on the matter on Monday unveils.

Apparently, the company is working on two different chipsets based on Cortex-A53, including a quad-core one, and an octa-core SoC.

Dubbed MT6732 and MT6752, respectively, these chips are expected to arrive on the market with support for WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, GSM, FDD-LTE, and TD-LTE networks, it seems.

The info comes from a leaked document that emerged over at MyDrivers, which also confirms that the two processors are set to become available before the end of the year.

What hasn’t been unveiled as of now is the frequency at which these chips will operate and the graphics processor that will be included in them. Keep an eye on this space for additional info.
