Available today as a universal update, MediaFire for iPhone and iPad now includes optimized video streaming performance and a Retina-optimized user interface designed specifically for tablet owners.

Similar to Dropbox, Box, and MEGA, MediaFire is an online storage service focused on giving people a complete and easy-to-use solution for managing their lives.

Available for iOS and OS X, Windows, Android and, of course, web browsers, “MediaFire is the only online storage solution to offer unlimited downloads, download resuming, zero wait times and more, all for free,” according to its creators.

Paid plans are offered to customers looking for maximum storage and bandwidth, much like the other services we mentioned. However, MediaFire offers considerably more storage at more affordable prices. It’s anybody’s guess how secure any of these services really is, but so far people are not complaining.

The mobile app enables iOS users to access, stream, and share photos, movies, music, and files stored on the cloud service, directly from their iPad or iPhone. Updated with a new design for iOS 7 and featuring full support for iPads, the free MediaFire app now puts your digital life at your disposal in the best way possible.

To celebrate the release of its iPad-compatible iOS client, MediaFire is offering a 50% percent discount on all professional storage plans. 1TB is available for $2.50 (€1.80) a month or $24.99 (€18) per year.

Derek Labian, president and CEO of MediaFire, believes that “Tablets are quickly becoming the mobile device of choice for everyday users on the go. However, device storage limitations often restrict users from being able to bring all of their media and files with them.”

“Whether it's their personal files or important business documents, MediaFire for iPad provides users with a way to quickly and securely store, backup, organize and stream all of their photos, movies, photos, and files directly to their tablet. And with 1TB of storage starting at just $2.50 a month, now everyone can afford to bring all of their files with them, wherever they go,” Labian adds.

Localized in English only, MediaFire 1.3 for iOS is available for free and requires iOS 7.0 to work. Supported devices include iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, and iPod touch fifth generation.
