Media Player 11 Will Also Be Available for Windows XP

If you are a fan of Microsoft's Media Player, and you use it for movies, music or any other type of multimedia file, you'll be thrilled to know that version 11 of the well-known player will be available to Windows XP users as well.

With a new polished look and feel, and features that make using the Player easier than ever, Windows Media Player 11 can handle music collections of any size," says Microsoft in a very juicy presentation of the new player.

So far, it has been believed that Windows Media Player 11 would only be available in Vista. The users of the new OS would enjoy better synch with portable devices and easier browsing through music libraries. Additionally, the new application would be integrated with Urge, a new subscription-based service for music downloads, co-developed by Microsoft and MTV Networks.

However, it seems that Microsoft has thought about offering Windows XP users the same features included in Media Player 11 and, as ZDNet informs, has decided to release a Media Player version for this OS as well.

It's worth noticing that while Vista will be available to consumers at the beginning of 2007, the new Media Player will be released by the end of June, when the XP version is scheduled.
