Senior executives in the iPod users family

Have you ever wondered who are they, the members of this big family of iPod users? Is Bill Gates using an iPod? Maybe Apple people are using the Zune just like Britney drank Coca Cola while advertising for Pepsi (well, as far as I know, that shouldn't be forbidden, but it doesn't look good for their company either...)? A recent report from Reuters gives us some details about the big ones from the media industry and how they enjoy their games and music just like the rest of us. Being a VIP involved in leading a billion dollar company shouldn't take away all the simple pleasures of life, and today I will try to tell you a few interesting things about how these people spend their spare time...

The questions asked at the Reuters Media Summit held in New York last week were as follows: "As someone in a position of power in the media business, what form of media do you consume? Are you a YouTube junkie? A serial MP3 downloader?", and here you have some of the answers!

Richard Parsons, CEO and Chairman of Time Warner Inc. is a big music fan and an iPod user, as he says. "I like music. I have iPods everywhere. I had the whole bunch of (the Warner music collection) files put on before we sold it. And I listen to (online service) AOL Music all the time. That's my form of relaxation. Jazz."

Jean-Marie Dru, CEO at TBWA/CHIAT/Day Worldwide has an iPod-addicted family, and the answer to the reporter's questions doesn't leave room for even the smallest doubt about it: "We are old hippies. I read a lot of music magazines. I have five kids, so we are 7 at home and we have more than 15 or 16 iPods in the family."

Doug Morris, the CEO of Universal Music Group likes to listen to CDs, doesn't like all the reality shows, but no words about the iPod...maybe he's going to start using one after UMG strikes a deal with Apple? Time will tell...

At last, Edgar Bronfman, Warner Music Group's CEO seems to be one of the last book readers around, and he doesn't want to advertise for any digital music player around, since he answered the following: "I'm embarrassed to tell you that I read books. I don't watch a lot of television. I'm a huge fan of the ('NewsHour') Lehrer report. I do work out a bit, so I love to have my digital music player ? I won't identify which kind."
