The developers have implemented a lot of new features in the latest GeeXboX

GeeXboX, a free and Media Center purposed Linux distribution for embedded devices and desktop computers, is now at version 3.1.

GeeXboX can be used to watch and record live TV and can boot as a LiveCD, from a USB key, an SD/MMC card, or install on its regular HDD.

Highlights of GeeXboX 3.1:

• The XBMC Media Center 12.2 “Frodo” frontend has been implemented; • PVR support for DVB Digital TV has been added. Users can now watch and record live TV with vdr and tvheadend; • Support has been implemented for Full HD videos on Utilite; • Support has been added for Full HD videos on Cubox; • Support has been implemented for Full HD videos on RaspberryPi; • The system is based on Linux kernel 3.10.9; • Systemd has been upgraded to version 206.
