Media 100, known for creating some of the most advanced media systems for creative professionals, will be unveiling version 12.5 of its non-linear editing software at NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) 2008, booth SL8720. Highlights include HDV capture using FireWire and multi-channel audio track support.

Media 100 Producer is a full-featured software-only
model that offers a mobile and scalable editing environment, but also a FireWire I/O and Panasonic P2 acquisition capabilities. The software works with Apple's MacBook Pro and PPC Laptops, Intel Based iMac, Apple G5 and Intel Based Mac Pro computers.

Media 100 Producer is particularly aimed at in-the-field work or mobile editors using a Panasonic P2 camera. The latest version of the software allows for immediate editing, as well as offloading the media and continuing using your Panasonic P2 card. Utilizing all QuickTime codecs including DVC Pro and Apple Pro Res, Media 100 Producer can use media captured by Apple Final Cut Pro, Media 100 i, 844/X, Media 100 HD, Media 100 HD Suite, Media 100 HDe, and Media 100 SDe systems to edit, composite, mix and output via FireWire or export to DVD or web.

Media 100 Suite is a full-featured SD and HD nonlinear software editor that adds third-party video capture card support and hardware drivers. Drawing from the power of AJA's OEM video capture cards, adding its clean UI (user interface), the Media 100 Suite enables you to work in a hybrid environment of video formats and codecs. Owners of AJA PCI and PCI-e Macintosh Computers can add the power of Media 100 Suite to expand their professional editing and graphics environment. Media 100 Suite also includes all features found in Media 100 Producer and a bundled Boris RED.

Owners of Media 100 Platinum Software Agreements can upgrade to version 12.5 free of charge. Owners of legitimate Media 100 HD, Media 100 HD Suite, Media 100 HDe and Media 100 SDe copies can buy the Media 100 Platinum Software Agreement for $895. Media 100 Producer and Media 100 Producer Suite customers will pay $295 for the upgrade.

Media 100 12.5 is the fifth major release since Boris FX acquired the company three years ago. Click HERE to download a free trial of the software. Media 100 12.5 is set for a Q2 2008 release.
