By the looks of it, Medal of Honor: Airborne was not the last installment of this first-person shooter series, as EA just announced the development of Medal of Honor Vanguard. Apparently, the game will be released in March 2007 on the
PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii.
Players will be embodied by Frank Keegan, a Corporal of the 82nd Airborne
Division. You will be able to battle all over Europe, from the shores of Sicily (Operation Husky) all the way to Nazi Germany. The game will focus on battles fought in the Second World War
As it is the first installment in the Medal of Honor series to be released on Nintendo Wii, players will be able to take full advantage of the Wii's unique controlling devices (nunchuck and Wiimote). According to Matt Sentel, Senior Producer at EALA, Medal of Honor features a strong storyline in the classic Medal of Honor fashion.
Some of you may already know that Medal of Honor Vanguard will not be the only game in this FPS series to come out on the Wii. Medal of Honor Airborne is also scheduled to come out on Nintendo's next-gen, presumably sometime in early 2007. Airborne is also a PS3, PC and
Xbox 360 title.
I am curios to see Medal of Honor Airborne because I hear that it will be developed using a "heavily modified" Unreal Engine 3. Both Airborne and Vanguard games have not been rated yet, but don't expect a "M" for mature rating on behalf of ESRB.
